Description
The Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF) is a high-performance,
flexible software infrastructure that will increase ease of use,
performance, portability, interoperability, and code reuse in climate,
numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, and other Earth
science modeling applications. It will allow diverse scientific
groups to leverage common software to solve routine computational
problems such as efficient data communication, model component coupling
and sequencing, time management, and parameter specification.
Project Status
The first ESMF Community Meeting was held on May 30, 2002 in Washington,
D.C. During that meeting, a draft ESMF Requirements Document
was reviewed. Based on comments and additional requirements from
the community, a revised version of the Requirements
document is now available.
The next two meetings will take place in September:
ESMF
Team Meeting
September 24-26, 2002
Boulder, CO
ESMF
Joint Executive and Advisory Board Meeting
September 26-27,
2002
Boulder, CO
